A team of Scottish scientists have identified three genes responsible for 70 percent of a painful bone condition known as Padget’s disease.

Experts believe that genes regulating bone repair and may explain why the bones of people with that information is swell and suffer malformations.
An international team led by researchers at the University of Edinburgh studied the DNA of 1,250 patients suffering from this condition to try to discover the causative genes.
The researchers found that three of them have more defects in those who suffer from this condition that in healthy people: those defects occur in seven out of ten cases. These three genes are added to one that had been discovered in 10 percent of cases.
