Vegetarian diets
Both vegetarian diets as non-vegetarians can be potentially harmful or beneficial to health … this is according to how they are planned and used.
* The vegan diet excludes foods that are completely animal origin (meat, eggs, dairy)
* Diets Lacto-ovo-vegetarian meat only eliminate
* Semi-vegetarian diets include some limited quantities of food of animal origin.
Strict vegetarian diets:
Pay special attention to proteins, and especially the quality of the proteins. Protein is made up of amino acids, and the diet should contain the amount of necessary amino acids required by the body.
For that to happen you need to eat varied, combining several types of vegetables, so you can meet this need.
For example, maize contains a good amount of amino acids … but the proteins of peas only two … so it is a good idea to supplement with corn peas.
In general in vegetarian diets should include vitamin B12 (mostly is found in meat) that is found in fortified soy milk or vitamin supplements directly.
Lacto-ovo-vegetarian:
For these diets, there is no risk of deficiency or nutritional problems, as the milk and egg are complete proteins rich in amino acids.
Anyway, to stop eating meat sometimes an increase in the consumption of dairy products, with higher consumption of cheese, eggs, etc … and that ultimately increases cholesterol because, despite having chosen food healthier than meat also is high on fat and cholesterol.

So for people who choose a healthy diet, without so much animal protein in general is good to eat a variety and quality food ….
* Legumes, whole grains, flour and bread.
* Vegetables, vegetables of all kinds, with great variety of colors!
* Fresh fruit in season
* Seeds: sesame, sunflower, pumpkin, chia, flax, etc.
* By eating eggs at most twice a week
* Brown rice, wheat
* Limit intake of sweets, soft drinks, alcohol
* If you consume dairy products, which are fat-free.
Also if you’ve eaten meat your whole life and want to switch to a vegetarian diet, your body will feel it … There will be further refinement and “mismatch” … So should be making changes in the feeding of a balanced and gradually, little by little to achieve the right combination of nutrients and proteins that the body needs to function properly.
